Eyeline Match

An eyeline match is based on the premise that the audience will want to see what the character on-screen is seeing. The eyeline match begins with a character looking at something off-screen, followed by a cut to the object or person at which he is looking. An example of an eyeline match can be seen at 0.10 in the above clip. I think it was used here as it creates suspense by how the actress is behaving and leading the audience to wonder why what she's looking at is making her behave that way.
